La hipoglicemia ocurre cuando los niveles de azucar en la sangre descienden por debajo del rango normal. Esto condude al paciente a sentirse cansado, hambriento, mareado, tembloroso, nervioso o enfadado, sudoroso, vision borrosa, y aumento de los latidos del corazon (taquicardia).
Puede ser causa directa de que se salte una comida o que se este comiendo en muy pocas cantidades, asi como demasiada insulina y/o pildoras para la diabetes, o simplemente estar mas activo de lo usual. Generalmente el nivel de azucar en la sangre no debe bajar de 60mg/dl.
En caso de presentar estos sintomas revise de inmediato su nivel de azucar en la sangre. si no le es posible, haga la prueba tomando o comiendo alimentos altos en azucar, como pueden ser los siguientes:
- 4 onzas de jugo de fruta regular (naranja, manzana, uva...)
